MEGAN TRUSSELL

Megan Trussell was an 18-year-old freshman at the University of Colorado Boulder who disappeared on February 9, 2025 and reported missing three days later after failing to respond to family members. She was found dead six days after her last siting on February 15, 2025 in a remote, snow-covered area off Boulder Canyon Drive. According to investigators, Megan was last seen leaving her dorm late at night after an argument with her roommate and boyfriend. The Boulder County Coroner’s Office ruled her death a suicide, citing toxic levels of amphetamine (believed to be Adderall) in her system, with hypothermia listed as a contributing factor, and stated that her injuries were consistent with a fall rather than an assault. Megan’s family has strongly disputed this conclusion, pointing to her lack of prior suicidal behavior, unexplained injuries, missing belongings, and unanswered questions about the toxicology evidence, and they have since hired a private investigator, pushed for independent testing, and publicly called for the case to be reopened. As scrutiny has grown, the case is now set to receive a state-level review, marking the first time it will be examined outside local law enforcement.
